Official Information Request (PIP)

Once the due diligence is done, we request official information, or, Pedido de Informação Prévia PIP, from the municipality which has a validity of one year in order to guarantee the construction viability. This is a document that safeguards your right to build for one year. The PIPs can be done in two ways, a generic PIP or a more detailed PIP, which type depends on the intention, project and municipality. A generic PIP safeguards the right to build in a general way, good for acquiring a property. A detailed PIP has a project design and its validation goes to the municipality and relevant external entities. Once it is approved, the building permit is close.
